- An Oakley police officer was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Wednesday morning, the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office said. The accident occurred at 8:30 a.m., in the area of Brownstone Road and Kessler Lane, as the officer was conducting a traffic stop. The officer had turned on his emergency lights in an attempt to apprehend a vehicle, but was struck by a car. Sheriff's officials did not say if he was struck by the car he was trying to pull over, or if the driver remained at the scene or cooperated with authorities.
