GROVELAND, NY : A Livingston County man is recovering after a single vehicle accident on Monday, 21st May 2018

A Livingston County man is recovering after a single vehicle accident in the Town of Groveland on Monday.

According to first responders, the driver, identified as Alex J. Dimmick, approximately 24-years-old, of Livonia, lost control of his vehicle on Flats Road in Groveland around 7 p.m. on Monday.

The vehicle apparently overturned, coming to rest just feet from a creek.

Dimmick was air lifted by Lifenet helicopter to an area hospital with serious injuries. It is reported that he left the scene in stable condition and was being treated in Intensive Care for broken bones sustained in the crash.

The Dansville, West Sparta, and Groveland fire departments responded to the scene, along with Dansville Ambulance and Livingston County EMS.

A statement from the Groveland Fire Department called the response a “great response by everyone involved.”

The cause of the crash was not immediately released, an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
