BAY COUNTY, FL : 2 school buses crash in Bay County on Sunday, 20th May 2018
A school bus driver was charged after rear-ending another school bus Monday afternoon.
According to a press release from Florida Highway Patrol, 53-year-old Stephen Scott of Panama City was traveling southbound in 2003 school bus on US 231 at Sarasota Avenue around 2:45 p.m. when he failed to slow in time and struck another school bus driven by 59-year-old Terrance O’Donnell of Panama City. The impact caused O’Donnell to then rear-end a 2008 Ford Edge driven by 20-year-old Nikko Swift of Owen Mills, Maryland.
All vehicles came to a controlled stop in a parking lot at the corner of Selma and US 231. Scott was driving 20 students from the Boys and Girls Club and O’Donnell was transporting 63 students from Bay County Schools. Two students from O’Donnell’s bus were transported to Bay Medical at the request of their parents. No injuries were reported.
Scott was charged with failure to use due care.
