Knoxville, TN : One person dead in an early Wednesday morning crash on Pelissippi Parkway on the ramp to I-40 West on September 10th 2014

Police say an early morning crash on Pelissippi Parkway on the ramp to I-40 West has killed one person. Knoxville Police say they found a car off the road on the I-140 to I-40 East ramp around 1 a.m. Wednesday. The driver had been ejected from the car and was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say the initial investigation shows the car, a 2001 Acura, was traveling at a high rate of speed when the left tires slid off the pavement. According to the report, the driver overcorrected and the car went off the right side of the road, down an embankment and flipped several times. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
