Tuscaloosa, AL : Ascencion Marcelo Roque Jimenez, 36, died in two-vehicle crash on Alabama 69 on Monday, June 27, 2016

Ascencion Marcelo Roque Jimenez, 36, of Moundville, was one of the two people killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon.

Authorities said the crash occurred when a GMC Envoy collided with a 2015 Dodge Charger driven by Derrick Maurice Lucy, 38, of Huntsville.

Lucy and a passenger in the Dodge were both injured and taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

The GMC caught fire, killing the driver and Jimenez. Authorities are withholding the driver's name pending notification to family.

The crash occurred on Alabama 69 near the 135 mile marker.

Authorities continue to investigate.
