PHOENIX, AZ : Hit-and-run crash near Grand Canyon University on Wednesday, 8th November 2023

A man is dead after an early morning hit-and-run collision that closed a busy intersection for several hours in west Phoenix on Wednesday morning.

Phoenix police initially responded to a crash involving a pedestrian around 4:50 a.m. near 35th Avenue and Camelback Road, next to Grand Canyon University. Officers found Habimana Ciza, 29, with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Eyewitnesses tell Arizona’s Family that a man was crossing in the middle of the intersection when he was struck by a driver in a dark-colored Honda SUV.
