PHOENIX, AZ : Suspect arrested after a hit-and-run crash on Saturday, December 10th, 2016

Phoenix police say a driver is in custody in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left a man in critical condition.

They say 20-year-old Danny Leo is jailed on suspicion of aggravated assault.

Police officers responded to reports of a serious collision about 1:40 p.m. Saturday and found a 22-year-old man injured.

Witnesses told police that before the victim was hit, they heard an argument and a gunshot in the area.

According to witnesses, the collision appeared to be an intentional act and not an accident.

Police say the victim remained hospitalized Sunday.

They say Leo was located at an apartment complex after he tried to abandon his vehicle and flee on foot.
