Carlsbad, NM : One person was killed in a fatal crash on State Road 12 on Monday, 19th March 2018

One person was killed in a fatal crash Monday on State Road 128.

State Police responded to the incident at about 11:30 a.m. near mile marker 30 between Loving and Jal.

Matthew Rosenbaum, 22, of Ashdown, Arkansas, was driving west on State Road 128 in a 2001 Dodge pickup truck when he rear-ended a 2003 Peterbilt semi truck, also traveling west, preparing to turn left on Vaca Lane.

Rosenbaum sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene, State Police said.

The driver of the semi truck was not injured.

State Police said alcohol does not appear to be a factor and the crash is under investigation.
