One person died and another was injured in a one-car crash Saturday night.

State police said Joe Santora, 78, of Friendsville, died in the crash while his passenger, Margaret Santora, 76, suffered serious injuries.

Police said Joe Santora was driving on Route 29 in Exeter Township around 9:37 p.m. Saturday. His vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree on the property of 2480 state Route 92.

Emergency crews transported Margaret Santora to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for serious injuries. Coroner Frank Gubbiotti pronounced Joe Santora dead at the scene.
