Smithton, PA : Part of Interstate 70 East had to be closed Tuesday morning after a tractor-trailer lost a load of grapes and juice in Westmoreland County, October 14, 2014

An eastbound lane of Interstate 70 has reopened about six hours after a tractor-trailer crashed, spilling grapes and sticky juice onto the highway in southwestern Pennsylvania. State police say the incident happened about 2:40 a.m. Tuesday between the Smithton and Mount Pleasant exits and that the lane reopened about 8:30 a.m. Police say the tractor trailer driven by 48-year-old Chad Mathers, of Jefferson City, Missouri, clipped another truck whose driver was sleeping and had parked his car hauler off the side of the road. The fruit-hauling truck then headed up a small embankment and tipped over, spilling its load. Police say Mathers will be cited for not staying in his lane. Mathers wasn't hurt, but police say the other driver was treated at Mon Valley Hospital for moderate injuries.
