LAS VEGAS, NV : Fatal crash claims two lives near Lake Mead Sloan on Sunday, 13th October 2024

A tragic collision early Sunday morning resulted in the deaths of two young men in Las Vegas.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:03 a.m. near the intersection of East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Sloan Lane.

According to evidence, witness statements, and video footage, a 2003 Mercedes Benz C-Class sedan, driven by a 20-year-old male from Las Vegas, was traveling westbound on Lake Mead Boulevard at a high rate of speed.

Meanwhile, a 1991 Honda Prelude, driven by a 22-year-old male, was heading eastbound on the same road.

The collision happened when the Mercedes Benz struck the center median, causing it to rotate counterclockwise and cross into the eastbound lanes, directly into the path of the Honda. The front of the Honda collided with the passenger side of the Mercedes Benz.

Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene, but both drivers were pronounced deceased, beyond any life-saving efforts.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified one of the victims as 22-year-oldNestor Nunez-Torres of Las Vegas. The identity of the other person was still pending release as of Monday.
