The Pocatello woman who was driving a car involved in a head-on crash that killed a motorcyclist in the city Friday morning has been charged with vehicular manslaughter.
Joanne Christofferson, 29, was arrested Saturday immediately after being discharged from Portneuf Medical Center, where she had been receiving treatment for injuries suffered in the wreck that killed motorcyclist Staci Shryock, 44, of Pocatello.
State police would not release further details Saturday on exactly why Christofferson was being charged. She is currently being held without bail at the Bannock County Jail.
Shryock was one of three people killed Friday in traffic accidents in Southeast Idaho.
Irving Escalante, 27, of Armona, Calif., was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Blackfoot and motorcyclist Jamie Gallegos, 29, of Aberdeen, was killed south of that city when he collided with a car.
Shryock, who was operating a 2005 Harley Davidson, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 10:20 a.m. collision with Christofferson's 1997 Mazda Protege.
