Chesterton, IN : No injures in 5 vehicle rush hour 49 crash on Wednesday, October 26, 2016

No one was injured Wednesday and no one cited in a five-vehicle rush-hour chain-reaction accident on Ind. 49, Chesterton Police said.
According to police, at 5:49 p.m. Brandon A. Biddle, 22, of Pine Township, was northbound in the left lane of Ind. 49 and approaching Voyage Blvd. when he rear-ended a second vehicle which was slowing for traffic.
The second vehicle rear-ended a third, the third a fourth, and the fourth a fifth, police said.
The driver of the second vehicle was Jeremy E. Driskill, 18, of Chesterton. The driver of the third vehicle was Julie A. Anton, 47, of Chesterton. The driver of the fourth vehicle was Alexander A. Dimitsas, 27, of Chesterton. The driver of the fifth vehicle was Deborah S. Cincoski, 54, of Chesterton.
Police said that the line of vehicles was slowing for a moving truck in another lane whose trailer was partially blocking the left lane; and that Biddle “was unable to stop in time and struck” the second vehicle driven by Driskill.
Police estimated total damage to Biddle’s 1999 Honda Civic, Driskill’s 2007 Ford Explorer, Anton’s 2016 Kia Sportage, Dimitsas’ 2009 Nissan Altima, and Cincoski’s 2014 Kia Optima at up to $25,000.
