Hudson, N.H : 14-year-old teenager suffers serious injuries in collision with car on Highland Street on Sunday afternoon, December 6, 2015
Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in a collision between a car and a pedestrian that left a 14-year-old Hudson boy with potentially life-threatening injuries Sunday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the area of 83 Highland St., in Hudson, about 3:11 p.m., for a report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian, according to police.
Officers arrived to discover that a 2007 Hyundai Tucson driven by Scott Hicks, 49, of Hudson, was traveling westbound on Highland Street when it collided with a 14-year-old Hudson boy who was crossing the street.
Police say the teen was taken by ambulance to the parking lot of the H.O. Smith Elementary School, and from there was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital by a medical helicopter.
Hicks, as well as passengers Cynthia Hicks, 46, and their 16-year-old son, were not injured, according to police.
Highland Street was closed between George Street and Gloria Avenue while members of the Hudson Police Crash Investigation and Reconstruction Team gathered evidence for their investigation. The road has since been reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
Police did not immediately identify the 14-year-old.
