BOYLSTON, MA : Clinton woman killed in crash at the area of Route 70 and Main Street Circle on Friday, 14th February, 2020
A Clinton woman was killed in an accident on Route 70 Friday.
According to Police Chief Anthony Sahagian, police were dispatched to the area of Route 70 and Main Street Circle at 3:54 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, for a report of a two-car accident.
Police reported that the blue Hyundai sedan, driven by Jean Tollis, 61, of Oak Hill Avenue, Clinton, was traveling north on Route 70 when it crossed the double yellow lines into a southbound lane, striking a brown Hyundai sedan head-on. The brown vehicle was driven by Zachary Bailey, 29, of South Lenox Street, Worcester.
Tollis was extricated from her vehicle and taken to UMass Hospital-University Campus by Boylston EMS, where she was pronounced dead. Bailey was also transported to the Worcester hospital, where he was treated and released for his injuries, according to the chief.
Clinton and West Boylston police rerouted Route 70 traffic away from the scene while Boylston and Mass. State Police investigated. Sahagian said no other information is available at this time.
