Polk County, FL: 1 killed, 3 critical in I-4 Polk crash on Monday, July 20th 2015

One person was killed and three others are in critical condition Monday after a crash on I-4 W at Exit 44.The Florida Highway Patrol says around 1:15 p.m., a Nissan Sentra filled with four young adults was heading west in the inside lane when it rotated clockwise and hit a median guardrail.The car then rotated again and traveled across all lanes of traffic in the westbound lanes and hit the guardrail on the shoulder. It then traveled up the grass embankment on the shoulder, became airborne and hit the concrete overpass support of SR-559.A 21-year-old male passenger died at the scene. The 19-year-old male driver and two other passengers, a male and female both 20 years old, were taken to Lakeland Regional Health. Troopers have yet released the names of those involved.It is not yet known if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
