Beaver Island, MI : Florida man injured in a one-vehicle roll-over crash on Beaver Island Thursday, July 7, 2016

A Florida man was injured in a one-vehicle roll-over crash on Beaver Island today, Thursday.

According to a news release from the Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at about 1:40 p.m. on Sloptown Road near King’s Highway.

Deputies said Tre’ Daniel Wilson was traveling west on Sloptown Road in a 1975 Jeep when he lost control of the vehicle, hitting the edge of the road and causing him to go airborne and exit the vehicle. Deputies said the vehicle rolled five times after the driver was thrown from it.

Deputies said Wilson was not wearing his seatbelt.

Wilson was transported to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City to be treated for numerous cuts.

Authorities said neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.
