Hunter, OK : Teen injured in in a single-vehicle crash south of Hunter on Sunday night, April 2, 2017
A 16-year-old Enid boy was injured Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash about 5 miles south of Hunter, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol is reporting.
The crash occurred about 10 p.m. at county road 150 and Lake Hellums, according to an OHP report.
The driver, whose name withheld by the patrol, was speeding south on the county road in a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria, when it departed the roadway to the left, went into a broad slide and struck a tree. The car rolled three and half times before coming to rest on its top, according to the OHP report.
The teen was transported from the scene by Garber EMS to St. Mary's Regional Medical Center and admitted in stable condition with head and internal body injuries.
According to the report, the cause of the collision was "unsafe speed; rain or wet conditions. The teen was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
