One person was killed when a large tractor overturned at a construction site in southwest Charlotte Wednesday, according to officials.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Shopton Road West near Egrets Point Drive. Police said a person, identified only as an Hispanic male, was operating the tractor when he got too close to a bank and the equipment rolled over.
The operator was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name has not been released.
Police said emergency crews had to cut a road to get to the scene.
