ROSEVILLE, CA : Motorcycle officer hospitalized after head-on crash in Roseville on Friday, 5th February 2021

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in Roseville that sent one of its officers to the hospital.

The crash, involving a CHP motorcycle officer and the driver of a Ford Explorer, happened at Sierra College Boulevard and Roseville Parkway just before 5:30 a.m.

CHP said in a report that the SUV driver took a left turn on a red light, hitting the on-duty officer head-on. The impact from the crash threw the officer from his motorcycle.

The officer was hospitalized with injuries described as "moderate." The Ford Explorer driver was not hurt, according to the CHP.
