San Jose, CA : Woman injured in rollover crash on Highway 85 in Sanjose on Wednesday, February 4, 2015
A 73-year-old woman was injured in a solo-vehicle crash along Highway 85 during the height of commute hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported around 5:30 p.m., CHP Officer Ross Lee said. Officers arrived to find the woman trapped inside her car, which had flipped onto its side in the crash. She was extricated by firefighters and taken to Valley Medical Center for injuries including a laceration to her face and swelling near the wound.
According to witnesses, Lee said, the woman was driving northbound in the outside lane along Highway 85 when she suddenly took a hard left, crossed four lanes of traffic, and collided with the center divide.
Drugs or alcohol are not suspected, but officers are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
The crash created major delays in the area, and commuters are urged to find alternate routes.
