Lake Geneva, WI : Passenger injured, driver arrested in motorcycle crash on N. Edwards Blvd. south of Sheridan Spring Road on Friday evening, May 6, 2016
Lake Geneva police tell FOX6 News, a 19-year-old man fled the scene after crashing a motorcycle near North Edwards Boulevard and Sheridan Springs Road in Lake Geneva, leaving a 22-year-old injured woman behind.
The crash occurred Friday evening, May 6th shortly after 7:30 p.m.
According to police, an officer observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed on North Edwards Boulevard south of Sheridan Springs Road. A short time later, police say they found that motorcycle had crashed at the intersection of North Edwards and Sheridan Springs Road.
Authorities say the operator of the vehicle, a 19-year-old Lake Geneva man, fled from the crash on foot — leaving behind a 22-year-old female passenger.
Police say the woman was transported to Lakeland Medical Center and later flown via Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital. She is now listed in stable condition.
According to police, the 19-year-old driver was found a short time later on Spring Street.
The driver was booked into the Walworth County Jail. He now faces charged for vehicle operator fleeing/eluding an officer and causing bodily harm, reckless driving endangering safety, and operating a motorcycle without a valid license.
This case will be referred to the Walworth County District Attorney’s Office.
Police believe speed and fleeing from an officer are the main factors of the crash.
