Wichita, KS : Victim in Wichita I-235 crash identified on Saturday, March 25th 2017

The victim of the fatal crash on I-235 in Wichita early Saturday has been identified as Damien Ware, 34, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.

Ware died in the collision on I-235 near MacArthur Road early Saturday.

The crash occurred at 2:33 a.m., emergency dispatchers said.

Ware was from Wichita, according to family members.

Ware’s vehicle was southbound on I-235 when, for reasons unknown, it left the highway, traveled into the median and struck a guardrail. The vehicle then crossed I-235 and struck another guardrail, the Highway Patrol report said.

A truck driven by Franklin Jones of Wichita was unable to stop before hitting Ware’s vehicle. Jones was not injured, the Patrol said
