Topeka, KS : 18-year-old killed in crash in Wichita on Sunday,15th April 2018

An 18-year-old was killed early Sunday after her vehicle ran off the road and came to rest in the Arkansas River.

Lexus A. Lemuz, of Wichita, was driving east on K-96 when her Ford Fusion ran off the road for an unknown reason, the Kansas Highway Patrol’s crash log indicated. The crash occurred 0.2 miles east of West Street in Wichita.

The car struck a guardrail and continued east in the ditch where it then vaulted over an embankment. The vehicle struck a fence and came to rest in the Arkansas River.

Lemuz wasn’t wearing a seat belt, according to KHP.

There were no other occupants in the car.
