EVERGREEN, AL : Brewton man killed in early morning crash on Saturday, 17th February 2024

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has released a statement regarding an accident that resulted in a death early Saturday morning.

The statement reads as follows:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, has claimed the life of a Brewton man. Reginald L. Benjamin, 51, was fatally injured when the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro he was driving left the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned. Benjamin was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on Alabama 83 near the 6 mile marker, approximately six miles north of the Evergreen city limits, in Conecuh County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
