CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC : Man accused in I-26 crash that killed 9-year-old girl faces DUI charges on Saturday, 22nd October 2016

A man accused of causing a six-car crash that killed a 9-year-old girl on I-26 has been charged with DUI felonies.

Dale E. Yarborough was charged with felony death with DUI, reckless homicide and three counts of felony DUI with bodily injury Sunday.

First-responders with the City of North Charleston responded to a multi-car accident with reported injuries Saturday evening, according to Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch.

Dispatchers say a call reporting an accident in the area Cosgrove Avenue exit 216-A came in at 5:58 p.m.

Multiple police cars, EMS vehicles, and fire trucks were on scene.

A total of six vehicles were involved in the accident and six people were taken to MUSC for treatment.

Of those six that were injured, 9-year-old Da'Vieona Hamilton died as a result of the accident.

Yarborough is currently being held at the Charleston County Detention Center.

According to an incident report, Yarborough told investigators he remembered little of the incident.

Bond was not granted bond for his Yarborough's felony death with DUI charge because he was already out on bond for domestic violence when the accident occurred.

He has a $75,000 bond for the reckless homicide charge and three counts of $25,000 for the three bodily injury charges.
