Brookhaven, MS : 62-year-old Charles K. Carr died and another injured in crash involving tractor in Lincoln County on Saturday afternoon, April 9, 2016

MHP Corporal Brandon Fortenberry said one man was killed and another injured in an accident that occurred Saturday afternoon in Lincoln County.

Fortenberry said 62-year-old Charles K. Carr of Monticello was killed when the tractor he was driving was struck from behind by 55-year-old Billy Brumfield of Foxworth.

Carr and Brumfield were both traveling east on US 84, where Brumfield struck Carr from behind.

Fortenberry said Carr was was ejected from the tractor after impact. Both vehicles came to rest on the south shoulder of US 84.

We're told Carr was airlifted to Kings Daughters Hospital in Brookhaven, where he was pronounced dead.

Corporal Fortenberry said Brumfield had minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
