Wilmington police are searching for a Nissan truck they say was involved in a hit-and-run early Sunday morning.
According to officials, the incident happened around 1:25 a.m. near the intersection of Park Avenue and Hawthorne Drive.
A white Nissan Frontier pickup truck reportedly crashed into an ambulance carrying a patient to Cape Fear Memorial Hospital.
Officials say the truck left the scene heading east on Park Avenue.
No injuries were reported and another ambulance was dispatched to take the patient to the hospital.
Police say the Frontier is a newer model, 2005 to 2009, with a camper shell and ladder rack. The truck has red lettering on its sides and is possibly used in construction.
The truck suffered damage to its right grill and front right passenger side.
