Lee County , FL : Hit and run driver tracked down after crashing his car along Summerlin Road south of Cypress Lake Boulevard on Sunday morning, February 22nd 2015

A man is accused of making a run for it after crashing his car along Summerlin Road south of Cypress Lake Boulevard Sunday morning about six.

Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol says he man crashed his car into a ditch and then took off running. Lee County Sheriff's Office was called to help out with a K-9 unit to track down the driver.

It wasn't long until they say they found the driver who is identified as 35-year-old Kenneth Lee Gregory of Fort Myers. He was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Gregory is charged with leaving the scene with property damage, driving with a suspended license or expired out of Oregon. The FHP report also notes that alcohol was a factor.
