Pennsylvania State Police say two people are dead following a single-vehicle crash along Route 33 Saturday night. According to a state police report, the wreck happened around 10:20 p.m. Saturday on Route 33 southbound, near mile marker 9.3, just south of the Stockertown exit. Officials say a black 2007 Ford Focus was traveling southbound when it moved from the left lane into the center median, and continued traveling southeast until impacting an embankment. After hitting the embankment, police say the vehicle traveled down a hillside and landed on its roof. Both occupants of the vehicle were killed in the crash. The Northampton County coroner identified the driver as 78-year-old Robert Wilson and the passenger as Wilson's wife, 55-year-old Helen Wilson, both of Pen Argyl. The cause of death is multiple blunt force trauma, and the manner of death has been ruled accidental. According to the coroner, Robert Wilson suffered a medical episode while driving, which may have caused the crash. Multiple state police troopers responded to the scene and were assisted by Forks Fire Department, local fire police, Nazareth EMS, the Northampton County Coroner's Office and PennDOT.
