Ontario , OR : One person was killed after another vehicle struck car at foggy road I - 84 on monday morning , January 19th 2015
One person died Monday morning in a series of crashes that closed Interstate 84 eastbound near the Oregon/Idaho border, the Oregon Department of Transportation said.
Idaho State Police says the person who died at the scene was apparently out of their car when another vehicle struck them.
Witnesses told KATU News that there were injuries from the crashes along the interstate in Idaho's Payette County.
Traffic on I-84 was affected in Oregon as crews worked in both the east and westbound lanes to clear the crashes through the morning hours.
The National Weather Service says dense fog and below freezing temperatures are making for hazardous driving conditions from Nampa, Idaho to Ontario, Oregon.
Payette County officials say conditions are "extremely slick" and everyone needs to slow down.
It's unclear how many crashes have been reported or how many vehicles are involved.
This crash comes two days after a 26-vehicle pileup on Interstate 84 that injured 12 people.
