Pontiac,MI : Man hit by cars and killed while riding bike in Pontiac on January, Saturday 6th 2018

A Pontiac man was killed early Saturday when he was hit by at least three cars while riding his bike.

The 51-year-old victim was riding west on W. Kennett Rd. at about 4:30 a.m. when he was hit. The driver of the first car to hit him fled the scene, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, and is being sought by authorities. Automobile parts collected at the scene indicate the car was a blue Ford. It’s expected to have damage to the front-end passenger side.

After the first car hit the man, he was struck by at least two other vehicles also traveling west. They include a 2010 Ford Fusion driven by a 59-year-old Ferndale resident and a 2005 Lexus RX operated by a 48-year-old Pontiac resident. Both were wearing seatbelts and weren’t injured, the sheriff’s office said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

This was the second hit-and-run involving a car and bike in Pontiac in two days. On Friday, a 52-year-old Pontiac man was critically injured when he was hit by a light-colored, late model SUV while riding on Woodward Avenue near Osmun Street shortly after midnight.
