Clarke County, AL : Mississippi man killed in car crash on Wednesday July 30th 2014
A man, who was not wearing a seat belt, was killed in a car crash Wednesday after the vehicle he was driving overturned, according to Alabama Department of Public Safety Public Information Officer Kevin Cook.
In a news release Cook said the crash claimed the life of 55-year-old Stanley Earl Carroll of Quitman, Miss. Carroll was driving a 2006 International around 9:25 Wednesday morning when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned, according to Cook.
Carroll was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene, Cook said.
The crash occurred on Alabama 69 at the 19.7 mile marker, two miles south of Coffeeville.
Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
Cook added that the public should be reminded that the proper use of seat belts and child restraints save lives. He concluded the news release by saying, "Buckle up: Every seat. Every trip. Every time."
