Ottumwa,IA : Three car accident injures one on June, Monday 19th 2017

One person was injured in a crash that slowed traffic for a little under an hour around 5 p.m. Monday.

At least three vehicles were involved in the accident at the south end of the Wapello Street Bridge, at the junction of Highway 149 (Business 63) and Highway 34. Two lanes of the bridge were blocked, though it was a section where the road briefly becomes a four lane.

Despite extensive damage to one of the vehicles, the Ottumwa Fire Department was able to extract the occupant without needing powered extraction equipment (Jaws of Life).

The Ottumwa Police Department, the Wapello County Sheriff's Office, ORMICS and the OFD responded to the incident.
