Hayward ,CA : One person transported to the hospital with major injuries after multi vehicle crash on Monday , July 13th 2015

One person suffered major injuries after a multivehicle collision Monday night on Interstate 880, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

Police responded to a report of several cars involved in a collision at 9:55 p.m. on southbound Interstate 880 near the A Street off-ramp, CHP Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said. At least seven vehicles were involved, including a bus.

One person was transported to the hospital with major injuries, Van Eckhardt said. The extent of victim's injuries was unavailable.

Three right lanes were closed while the scene was being cleaned up and investigated, which caused major traffic delays, he said. Two lanes remained closed as of 11:15 p.m.
