ATTLEBORO, MA : Two hurt in city crash on April, Saturday 1st 2017
A motorist will be summoned into court on a drunken driving charge following an early morning crash Saturday that sent two people to the hospital and closed a local street for 12 hours, according to police.
Police responded to Thurber Avenue around 2:35 a.m., after a vehicle struck a utility pole.
The passenger was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence and the driver was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle will be charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and driving to endanger.
Thurber Avenue in the area of Pentecostal Way and Cathedral Drive was closed from the time of the crash until around 2:30 p.m. as utility crews worked to replace a pole.
The identities and conditions of those involved were not available.
as police continue to investigate the crash and complete the accident report.
