Mittie, LA : Dry Creek teen killed in La. 26 crash on Wednesday afternoon, May 11, 2016

Investigation continues into an accident that killed a Dry Creek teenager late Wednesday afternoon.

State Police said Rachel McCrary, 19, was traveling west on La. 26 near this Allen Parish community when her 1999 Olds crossed the centerline and struck the trailer of an east-bound 18-wheeler driven by Patrick Courville, 58, of Eunice.

The accident happened shortly after 4 p.m. Both drivers were wearing seatbelt and Courville was not injured, police said.

,McCrary died as a result of her injuries. Courville was not injured. Both were wearing a seat belt.
Investigators had not determined why the McCrary vehicle crossed the centerline.

Routine toxicology samples were obtained from the drivers and will be submitted for analysis.
