ONSLOW COUNTY, NC : 19-year-old killed in Onslow Co. wreck on April, Saturday 1st 2017

A 19-year-old was killed in a car wreck in Onslow County Saturday evening.

According to WITN, 19-year-old Kayla Swindle of Richlands was driving south on 258 in the area of Blue Top Rd. and Diane Dr. when she crossed the center lane and collided with a tractor trailer who was driving northbound.

Swindle was killed on impact.

Troopers who responded to the scene said neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash.

Richard Leathers of Jacksonville was the driver of the tractor trailer. He was not injured in the crash.

WITN says the official cause of the accident is still under investigation however troopers do not expect to file any charges.
