OAKLAND,CA : Multiple injuries in multi-vehicle East Oakland crash on August, Wednesday 16th 2017

At least five people including some children were taken to area hospitals after at least two vehicles collided Wednesday night, authorities said.

Around 8:30 p.m.. police and firefighters responded to the report of a crash in the 5500 block of International Boulevard, and found the vehicles about 40 yards east of where they struck each other.

Inside those vehicles, multiple people were trapped and required assistance, and police closed International Boulevard in both directions from 53th to 57th avenues, police said.

Four ambulances responded to the crash site. No word was immediately available on the victims’ conditions.

People involved in the accident who were not hospitalized remained on the scene and cooperated with police.
