Scottsbluff, NE : Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, man killed in Tuesday crash on Tuesday, 23rd August, 2016
A 74-year-old Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, man died in a crash Tuesday on Interstate 80. Wyoming State Patrol Sgt. David Wagener has released that Dennis Noack died in the crash, which occurred at mile post 363 approximately one mile west of the College Drive exit in Cheyenne and within the city's limits.
Wagener said Noack was driving a 2004 Toyota Solara passenger car traveling east on I-80 when he rear-ended an eastbound 2016 Jeep Cherokee driven by 57 year old Cheyenne resident Karl Musgrave. The rear-end collision caused the Jeep, driven by Musgrave, to tip and roll into the south ditch. The Toyota, driven by Noack, also tipped and rolled into the south ditch as well after the initial collision.
Noack was not wearing his seat belt, was ejected and sustained fatal injuries on scene.
Musgrave and a 55-year-old female passenger in Musgrave's vehicle were both wearing their seat belts and were not ejected. Both were transported by ground ambulance to Cheyenne Regional Medical and were both treated and released.
Speed and lane use are being investigated as contributing factors in the crash. The crash marked the 76th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2016. There were 100 fatalities during this same time period in 2015.
