Detroit Lakes, MN : Vergas woman injured in in a rear-end crash on Highway 59 S. south of the Dunton Locks Road on Saturday afternoon, April 23, 2016

At least one person was injured Saturday afternoon in a rear-end crash on Highway 59 S. near Detroit Lakes.

Geraldine E. Marcy, 74, of Vergas suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Essentia St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes.

According to the State Patrol, she was southbound on Highway 59 in a 2014 Chevy Equinox and rear-ended a 2006 Chevy Silverado when it attempted to turn left into Riverview RV park.

The condition was not documented for the driver of the Silverado, Jon M. Kumpula, 64, of Detroit Lakes.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and Marcy’s airbag deployed.

The crash was reported at 1:36 p.m. Saturday on dry two-lane pavement just south of the Dunton Locks Road.

The Becker County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
