Officer sustains minor injuries in three-car crash

A Knoxville Police Officer sustained minor injuries in a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday evening.Police say Officer Christopher Hutton, 24, was driving his police cruiser on Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue around 7 p.m. when a 2005 Chevrolet Impala driven by Elbert Brabson, 43, entered the intersection at Chestnut Street and collided with the front of the cruiser.A third vehicle, a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Katina Watson, 41, then collided with both of the other cars.

Officials say Officer Hutton had both his lights and siren on at the time of the crash.Officer Hutton was taken to UT Medical Center for examination. He was treated and released overnight.

The other two drivers were also taken to UT Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.Brabson was arrested upon his release from the hospital on two outstanding warrants for failure to obey court orders.
