PHELAN, CA : Phelan man dies in crash Saturday on Saturday, December 31st 2016

A 65-year-old man died following a crash late Saturday, authorities said.

Edmond Joseph Pare Jr, of Phelan, lost his life after the crash, the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner said Sunday.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Phelan and Wilson Ranch roads at 9:16 p.m. Saturday and involved a single vehicle. Further details on the crash are not yet known, but officials said Pare was found unresponsive at the scene.

He was taken to Desert Valley Hospital for treatment but was pronounced deceased at 10:25 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.

No other injuries were reported due to the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
