CLINTON, MS : Clinton police see multiple accidents due to snow on Wednesday, 11th December, 2019

Clinton police were busy with weather-related accidents for a couple of hours Wednesday morning, said Sgt. Matt Lorenzen, but no serious injuries were reported.

At the corner of Main Avenue and 16th St. NW, police checked on a motorist who had slid off the roadway and into a ditch. At the same intersection, a vehicle slid into a light pole.

Alliant Energy replaced the pole, and Lorenzen said there was no gas leak or loss of power due to the accident.

Details of the accidents were not available Wednesday.

Lorenzen said police were pretty busy from about 7:30-9 a.m. “We had multiple accidents which were primarily weather related,” he said.

“We did call the assistance of the street department,” Lorenzen said. “They put salt down in a couple of locations.”

The Clinton County Sheriff’s department reported only one weather-related accident.
