North Lauderdale, FL : 6 people injured after a four-car crash near North Lauderdale Elementary on Monday, April 6, 2015

Six women were taken to hospitals Monday evening after a four-car crash near North Lauderdale Elementary, a city official said.

One woman was taken by a Broward Sheriff's Office helicopter to North Broward Medical Center with severe injuries, said Jennifer Johnson, spokeswoman for the city. Four were taken by ambulance to University Hospital and another to North Broward Medical Center, also by ambulance.

Johnson did not know the cause of the crash, which happened around 6 p.m. near the intersection of Kimberly Boulevard and Southwest 76th Avenue. No bystanders were injured during the wreck, she said.
