San Dimas, CA : 12-year-old boy crashes bike into car in San Dimas on Tuesday, April 5, 2016

A 12-year-old boy crashed his bicycle into a car Tuesday and was airlifted to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center, sheriff’s officials said.

The incident occurred at 1:30 p.m. on Second Street and San Dimas Avenue, Sgt. Vicki Gregory said.

“He wasn’t wearing a helmet when he hit the car, so he was airlifted to the hospital as a precaution,” she said. “We contacted his father, and he is with his son at the hospital.”

The driver, who stopped after the collision, was not cited, Gregory said.
