SOMERSET, PA : Motorcyclist dies in head-on collision with SUV on Tuesday, August 29, 2017

A Somerset man died Tuesday when his motorcycle crashed head-on into an SUV in Somerset Township, authorities said.

State police in Somerset said Brent I. Heitzer, 36, was driving a 2002 Yamaha V Star southbound on Stepping Stone Road from Berlin Plank Road and crossed into the path of a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Mollie J. Walker, 32, of Friedens.

Heitzer died at the scene of the 11:34 a.m. crash, troopers said.

Walker was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown with a minor injury, troopers said.

Somerset Volunteer Fire Department and Somerset Area Ambulance Association assisted at the scene.
