Jackson County, IN : ISP trooper injured in crash on I-65 in Crothersville on Friday night, August 26, 2016
An Indiana State Trooper is recovering after being injured in a crash.
Trooper Michael Thiron was responding to a crash at the 38 mile marker of I-65 in Crothersville, Indiana around 9:00 p.m. Friday night. Trooper Thiron was attempting to change lanes from the shoulder of I-65, to the median where the previous crash was located.
As Trooper Thiron changed lanes with his emergency lights activated, the fully marked Dodge Charger was hit by a 2012 Freightliner pulling a box trailer, being driven by Patrick Gregory, 30, of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Trooper Thiron's vehicle spun into the median and came to rest against the cable barrier.
Trooper Thiron was transported to Schneck Medical Center for treatment of possible head injuries.
Gregory was not injured in the crash.
