The passenger killed in a single-car crash in Milwaukee on Thanksgiving was identified as 30-year-old Sheri F. Klever of Milwaukee, according to the Milwaukee County medical examiner's office.
The 29-year-old driver, Steven A. Griffin, Klever's longtime boyfriend, was arrested by Milwaukee police on suspicion of driving drunk and causing her death.
The crash occurred about 2:15 a.m. Thursday when the driver was northbound in the 6900 block of N. 91st St. and his 1998 Chevy Blazer hit the median at W. Dallas St. It left the roadway and struck a metal light pole and two trees before rolling over.
Klever was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. She leaves behind three children.
Griffin faces preliminary charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and operating after revocation, causing a death. Police said he had a revoked license and a prior conviction for driving while intoxicated.
