LAPORTE COUNTY, IN : 11-year-old boy, 4-year-old girl killed in LaPorte County crash on Sunday, 26h May 2024

Two children were killed, and four other people were hurt in a crash over the weekend in LaPorte County.

The crash happened just before 12:45 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Joliet Road and County Road 900 West in New Durham Township.

According to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office, a Chevrolet Trailblazer pulling a U-Haul trailer was heading south on County Road 900 West when it didn’t stop at a stop sign and was hit by a Ford F-250 pickup truck that was heading east on Joliet Road.

An 11-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl who were passengers in the Chevrolet were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither of them has been identified at this time, but police say they are both from Justice, Illinois.
